Level 1/2 Hair and Beauty at Trans4m

Course description

The Love Hair training salon is perfect if your passionate about hair and beauty. You will try out a range of styling techniques and beauty treatments and develop the skills to work on real clients.

Course content

You will work towards an accredited Level 1 qualification "An introduction to Hair and Beauty"

There are two mandatory units - An introduction to the hair and beauty industry and Presenting a Professional image.  Learners will then be able to select units to complete their qualification from either hair or beauty or a combination of both.

Units include: Shampoo & conditioning, styling womens hair, plaiting and twisting, colouring hair using temporary colour, basic manicure, basic make up application, nail art application, themed face painting, hand care, create an image using colour.

Entry requirements

We have no formal entry requirements.

Assessment

The course is assessed using a combination of practical observations and theory based unit packs to evidence under pinning knowledge.  Students will practice on both training blocks and each other to gain the experience necessary to complete the qualification.

Financial information

Learners may be eligible to apply for a £40 per week bursary dependent upon household income.

Future opportunities

You will have the option to progress onto a level 2 course or apprenticeship.

Further information

Whilst on the course you may be required to do maths and English dependent upon your prior attainment.  You will also be supported to develop personel, social and employability skills to assist your progression into the workplace or further training.
