Sports Fitness Academy - CYQ Fitness Academy (Level 2) at Hopwood Hall College

Course description

The Hopwood Hall Fitness Academy is a unique opportunity for enthusiastic young people who are interested in becoming Fitness Instructors and Personal Trainers.
The course is aimed at people who already attend gyms and aspire to work in gym environments, or may have gym instructor qualifications that they wish to add to. Once you have completed Year 1 of the Fitness Academy you will be equipped with a portfolio of qualifications which meet the needs of both local and national employers.

New Opportunity: Learners will complete additional industry recognised qualifications to become a Metabolic Effect Fat Loss Coach and Group Exercise Teacher which will make you unique in the industry. The courses are endorsed by Skills Active and carry 12 industry points. These will incur separate course fees.

Entry requirements

4 GCSEs grade D or above to include English and Mathematics.

Financial information

No cost for 16-19 year olds.

Future opportunities

Completion of this course allows you to progress onto the Level 3 Advanced Fitness Academy (Personal trainer), enter employment or an apprenticeship.

      By Road: 
      The Middleton Campus is two miles from junction 20 on the M62. Take the A627(M) towards Oldham and leave at first junction and follow signs to Middleton.
      By Rail: 
      The Castleton rail station is 2 miles from the Middleton campus, and takes around ten minutes to reach by bus.
      By Bus: 
      The No. 17 bus service runs frequent between Rochdale and Manchester approximately every ten minutes and stops at the entrance to the Middleton Campus.
