Health and Social Care BTEC Subsidiary Diploma Level 3 at Mayflower High School

Course description

The BTEC National Award in Health and Social Care is a practical, work-related course, which provides you with an understanding of the skills needed when looking to build a career in any health or social care setting. Students learn through completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations. Work is assessed in a number of ways, including written assignments, role-plays and presentations.

Course content

The course consists of 3 mandatory and 1 optional units:

• Human Lifespan Development;
• Working in Health and Social Care;
• Meeting Individual Care and Support Needs;
• Psychological Perspectives/Physiological Disorders and care.

Entry requirements

4 GCSEs minimum grade C or a Merit in Level 2 BTEC Diploma in Health and Social Care. (A grade C in English Language is desirable but not essential).
