World Development at Cheney School

Course description

World Development enables you to develop an understanding of your role as a global citizen. It takes an in-depth look at particular countries and their paths of and barriers to development. We tackle some challenging topics such as HIV, female empowerment, conflict and ethnic identities.

Unit 1 Introduction to World Development Issues 70% 2 hour exam

Unit 2 Portfolio Analysis of World Development Issues 30% courseworkA2

Unit 3 Concepts and Processes of World Developement 70% 3 hour exam

Unit 4 Individual Report 30% coursework

Entry requirements

C in GCSE Geography (or English/English Language if GCSE Geography not taken).
