Spanish AS/A Level at The Open Academy

Course description

Studying a language has many benefits for the brain. Linguists typically do better than non-linguists at all of their schoolsubjects, they are even less likely to suffer from degenerative brain conditions such as dementia. Knowledge of foreign languages is a significant asset in the job market as well as greatly enhancing travel and cultural understanding.Language lessons promote vital communication skills and encourage mental agility.

You will have 3 different assessments at the end of the academic year (reading, listening, speaking) and 1 research based essay controlled assessment. Lessons will be 100% Spanish.

Entry requirements

Students following level 3 courses will require 5 Cs or above. You will need GCSE Spanish at least at B grade, be willing to attend a refreshment Spanish course during the last half term in Year 11.
