AS units and content: AS Units Unit 1 Britain 1483-1529 (50% of AS and 25% of A2) 1 hour 15 minutes examination. This unit provides an overview of developments in England between 1483 and 1529, taking as its major focus the growth of political stability from the instability of the reign of Richard III to the establishment of secure government by Henry VII and the development of Tudor rule under Henry VIII, to the fall of Wolsey in 1529. Unit 2: The campaign for African-American civil Rights in the USA, 1950 – 1968 (50% of AS and 25% of A2) 1 hour 15 minute examination This unit provides an opportunity to investigate the issues surrounding the fight for African-American Civil Rights in the USA.
A grade B or above in GCSE History. If you have not studied GCSE History, then you will need a grade B or above in English GCSE.
A Level History will be useful for anyone considering going into higher education. It is particularly useful for careers in Law, Journalism, Tourism, Teaching, the Heritage Sector, Archaeology, Civil Service, Diplomatic Service, Publishing, Politics and Public Relations.
