Aeronautical Engineering C&G Level 2 Diploma at Northbrook College Sussex

Course description

An introduction to aircraft maintenance engineering that will prepare school leavers for entry into an aircraft apprenticeship scheme, or to continue their training onto Level 3.

  • Human Factors in Aviation


80% of the course is theory, 20% is practical basic hand skills. Assessment is via multi-choice exams, short essay written exams and written reports

Entry requirements

To start on this course you need:

Either
4 GCSEs at grade C or above including English, Maths and Science 
or
a relevant Level 1 qualification with Merit profile, including Functional Skills requirements
plus successful interview and tutor recommendation


A practical ability is desirable

Assessment

3 x online multi-choice exams (pass mark 60%)
4 x Short essay written exams (pass mark 60%)
Written reports

Future opportunities

After one year you can achieve a City & Guilds Level 2 Diploma. This means you can continue training on the Level 3 course, or the EASA Licence course at Northbrook, or with an airline attending their aircraft apprenticeship scheme, or selection into military apprenticeship.
