Law A Level at London Academy

Course description

This course is designed to give students a sound understanding of English law.

At AS level, students will study how law is made, how it is interpreted, the structure of the court system, the ways in which conflict and disputes are resolved through the court system and how civil and criminal law impacts on the individual citizen.

At A2, students will understand how to apply the law in relation to fatal offences, non-fatal offences and property offences. Students will also explore various concepts of law, appreciating the difficulties faced in trying to operate a legal system which both upholds morality and justice simultaneously.

  • Unit 4: Criminal Law and Concepts of Law

Entry requirements

Students are expected to have gained 5 A*-C grades at GCSE level including grade C or above in English
