Psychology A level (Linear) at Dereham Neatherd High School

Course description

Psychology is the science of the mind. The human mind is the most complex machine on Earth. It is the source of all thought and behaviour. Psychologists study human behaviour as a clue to the workings of the mind. Everything we do, think, feel and say, Psychologists take as raw data for testing their theories about how the mind works.

Psychology can be an excellent subject to study alongside both science and humanities subjects. It develops skills such analysis, evaluation, numeracy and literacy. This makes it an ideal subject when applying to university and people with an A level in Psychology have gone on to study degrees in Nursing, Teaching, Medicine, Social Work, Physiotherapy and Zoology, as well as Psychology itself.
