Performing Arts: Acting or Dance BTEC National Extended Certificate at The Sixth Form at Cornwallis Academy

Course description

Acting OR Dance -  The Extended Certificate is designed for students who wish to develop skills in Acting or Dance.

Pupils can only specialise in one discipline.

Course content

DANCE: The dance course allows students to investigate practitioners work, looking at different styles of performance, developing you as a versatile choreographer and performer. During this course you will have the opportunity to perform in numerous shows in our new Performance Theatre!

ACTING: The Acting course offers many different pathways, from naturalism and epic theatre to theatre in education and devising skills. You will not only be an actor, you will develop modern performance, devising and directing skills. You will have the opportunity to perform nationwide, in schools and venues around the country depending on your course decisions.

Entry requirements

Minimum Merit at Level 2  Performing Arts

or

Minimum 5 grade at GCSE Drama or Dance

If pupil does not have any of the above, entry onto the course will be through audition and interview.
