Acting (Performance) BTEC Foundation / Extended Diploma - Level 3
This course gives you the opportunity to develop your acting skills whilst building your experience of performance. You will improve your vocal and physical technique as well as studying approaches to character and text. Major productions and devised performances throughout the course will allow you to apply the skills and knowledge you gain. The course aims to build your understanding of drama and performance in a range of contexts including: contemporary theatre, community and small-scale touring theatre and theatre-in-education.

You should have 4 GCSEs at C or above (ideally one should be in English)
First Diploma in Performing Arts at Merit grade.
If you are without the minimum qualifications you may be accepted with appropriate theatre-related background and experience. You will need to attend an audition/interview where you will perform a pre-rehearsed monologue from a published text.
You will be continuously assessed through a range of practical and written assessments. Some units will be externally assessed.
There is no need to worry about the costs of coming to college as there is lots of financial help available. Our finance and welfare officers will be able to talk to you about any help that may be available to you based on your individual circumstances.

Students aged 16-18 attending a full-time further education course can apply to the 16-18 Bursary Fund for help with college related costs. Free BUS PASS
We will provide a free bus pass to help with travel costs for 16-18* year olds on full-time programmes, based on individual circumstances**. To qualify for a free bus pass***, you must live more than one mile from the campus at which you will be studying and not already be in receipt of other financial support, such as Care to Learn funding.
*Under 19 as at 31 August 2017.
**Students with learning difficulties or disabilities who are unable to access public transport may still be able to receive help – talk to our Student Finance team.
***Evidence of family income will need to be provided.
