Course description

Below you will find some information regarding the BTEC National Diploma and Subsidiary Diploma Level 3 in Sport. Please note that there are some entry requirements for this course.

Course content

This is a specialist qualification that focuses on particular aspects of sport, including:
 Fitness
 Injury
 Leadership
 Lifestyle.
This course provides a vocational emphasis on learning, and there is some flexibility and choice for you so that you can develop employment or further education choices as appropriate.
The BTEC Level 3 National Diploma is equivalent to two A-Levels whilst the Subsidiary Diploma is equivalent to one A-Level.

Entry requirements

To access this course you will need 5 A* - C grades including English and Maths.


Due to the nature of the course, there is of course some level of physical activity. However, it is important to note this BTEC also involves theoretical work for which you will need to write essays.
Both Diplomas are coursework based with a variety of assessment methods so there is something for all types of learner.
