Course description

This qualification is aimed at you if you are looking to progress to an advanced level starting a career in the electrical industry.

Study the advanced principles of electro-technology and its application in the electrical industry; you will also cover:

• Environmental technology
• Advanced principles of electrical science
• Inspection, testing and commissioning
• Fault diagnosis and rectification
• Electrical system design
• Carrier awareness in building services engineering
• BS7671 17th edition Wiring Regulations (optional additional unit)

Supported work experience will be arranged with support from your tutor/

Entry requirements

You will need to have completed C&G Level 2 qualifications 2365 and 2330, with references from the College where you attended Level 2. You need GCSEs Grade C/5 or above or above in English and maths; science is preferable but not essential.

Future opportunities

You may progress on to the Advanced Apprenticeship in Electrical Installation, or into relevant employment.
