Health and Social Care (Adults) Apprenticeship Level 2 at Gateshead College

Course description

The health and social care framework covers care workers, personal assistants, domiciliary care workers community, support and outreach workers, supervisors, senior care workers in adult social care and clinical support workers. It's suitable for those working in the NHS, with private health care or social care providers, local authorities and voluntary organisations.

There are various pathways available to workers which means they can tailor their study towards their current occupational role or towards roles that have been agreed within their personal development or career progression discussions with their employers.

The course is undertaken by those already employed in the care sector and assess both theory and practical skills. It assesses the development of knowledge and skills relating to the health and social care workforce.

Entry requirements

  • There aren't any specific recommended prior learning requirements for this qualification. However, learners might find it useful if they have already completed a Level 1 qualification.
  • In addition to the entry requirements it is essential that you have evidence of either relevant employment or work experience in the care sector, which may include voluntary work.
