AS

The topics explored in the context of Spanish speaking countries are Media; Popular Culture; Healthy Living/Lifestyle; Family and Relationships.

The course builds on your vocabulary and grammatical skills to allow you to communicate effectively and accurately. 

Unit SPA1: Listening, Reading and Writing

Students have a series of tasks to complete including listening to material which is within your individual control; reading and responding to texts; a cloze test; writing a short essay.

Unit SPA2T/V:  Speaking

The test comprises a discussion of a stimulus card and a conversation with your teacher.

A2

The topics explored in the context of Spanish speaking countries are Environment; The Multicultural Society; Contemporary Social Issues; Cultural Topic.

Your linguistic skills are further developed to give you a confident command of the language, allowing you to explain and justify your views.

Unit SPA3: Listening, Reading and Writing   

Students have a series of tasks to complete including listening to material which is within your individual control; reading and responding to texts; translation; writing a short essay.

Unit SPA4T/V: Speaking

The test comprises a discussion of a stimulus card and a conversation with your teacher.

Entry requirements

A*‐C at GCSE including English and Maths and students need to have achieved at least grade B Spanish at GCSE unless they have a background in the language.
