A level Classics at Christ's School and Sixth Form

Course description

If you enjoy reading and discussing literature, political theory, history and philosophy then Classics is the right choice for you! Classical Civilisations focuses on the study of all these subjects as they were presented in Ancient Athens and Rome.

Many subjects find their roots within the study of Classics. Classical civilisations is helpful in developing English literacy and aiding cultural literacy, also with learning about the foundations of Philosophy and History. This subject also compliments many other A level topics such as: History, English Literature and Government and Politics, to name a few.

This course would be appropriate for those wishing to expand upon previous knowledge of Classics studied during GCSE’s, as well as those who have a desire to engage with Classics for the first time.
