Course description

The BTEC Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care will provide students with a wide range of opportunities to develop their understanding of health and social care policy and practice through evaluation of how we develop through life stages and the factors that can influence our physical, intellectual, emotional and social development, along with gaining a secure knowledge in the key values that underpin good healthcare and social care practice. This course will prepare students not only for work in the health and social care sector but will provide them with the foundation for further studies in the Humanities and Sciences. It would also be beneficial for any career pathway involving close work with the general public.

Course content

This course will appeal to students that are interested in healthcare or social care services and a desire to work with people in any professional capacity. An interest in related subjects would also be helpful. In order to be successful in this qualification you will need to be able to:
- Be a self-motivated and independent learner
- Research actively and methodically
- Good written communication skills

Future opportunities

By undertaking the BTEC Diploma in Health and Social Care you will be able to allow you to undertake further study in any health or social care related discipline at University or be able to work in a range of positions in the health and social care industry.
