Sport Extended Diploma at Bridlington School Sports College

Course description

This is a highly practical course which enables students to work and develop their skills in sport.

Over the 2 years, students complete the following nineteen units:

* Physiology of Fitness
* Assessing Risk in Sport
* Fitness Testing for Sport
* Fitness Training and Programmes
* Team Sports
* Individual Sports
* Leadership in Sport
* Sports Coaching
* Sports Development
* Exercise, Health and Life
* Psychology for Sport
* Instructing Physical Activity and Exercise
* Sports Injuries
* Analysis of Sports Performance
* Rules, Regulations and Officiating in Sport
* Organising Sports Events
* Work Experience in Sport
* Profiling Sports Performance

Entry requirements

The basic course entry requirement is 5 grade 'C' passes or above at GCSE plus: a passion for sport, a good level of fitness and a BTEC Level 2 qualification in Sport/Uniformed Services or a grade C or higher in GCSE PE.
