Course description

Whether you are looking for a career change, a school leaver, a new entrant to the industry, a keen conservationist wishing to further your interest, or in need of practical skills to complement an academic qualification, this course will start you on your way to a career in countryside and estate management.

This course gives you the opportunity to experience our extensive range of practical work carried out both on our extensive 280 hectare estate, with its woodlands, wetland features, grasslands etc, and on outside worksites, giving a wide range of real working situations.

Our well-equipped workshops and wide range of machinery allow our skilled staff to provide the very best tuition to assist you in achieving or changing your career to a worthwhile, outdoor challenging employment in all aspects of countryside and estate management.

Entry requirements

4 GCSEs at grades A* - C, including Maths and English, or a Level 2 Diploma at Merit or above, or equivalent.


Assignments, projects, group work, identification, tests and practical assessments.

Future opportunities

You could progress to the Level 3 Extended Diploma.
