Skills for Working Life Entry Level 2 or 3 (non-specific) at Herefordshire & Ludlow College

Course description

This is a general work-related course which provides students with the opportunity to try a variety of work areas and discover which ones they enjoy or are suited to and then to go on to develop vocationally specific, transferable skills that are valued by employers.

Course content

Vocational areas may include animal care, IT, catering, retail, horticulture, wood occupations or conservation. Students develop skills to help them prepare for the world of work, for example, skills in health and safety, first aid and job-seeking. Work experience will form part of the course, allowing students to gain confidence and skills in a real workplace.

Students will be encouraged to be involved in wider activities, for example, a youth enterprise Scheme where they run their own business, designing and producing an exhibit for the Malvern Garden Show or sports events.

Entry requirements
