Maths A2 at Queensbury School

Course description

A level mathematics is a valuable subject for any student to have as it will open so many doors in the future!

Course content


Entry requirements

You will need a minimum of 5 A*-C grades (or equivalent) in your GCSEs, including at least a grade B in the related subject.

To progress into the second year, you need to gain at least a pass grade from the first year.

Mathematics As/A2 GCE can be taken along with any combination of courses, but sits particularly well alongside the following: AS/AS GCE Physics, AS/A2 GCE Chemistry, AS/A2 GCE Economics,  Business Studies AS/A2 GCE.


Exams are held in both January and June and are generally taken as follows:

June 2nd Year - Core 3, Core 4, and Decisions 1.

Progression Routes

Higher Education--Mathematical, science or business related course.

Career Options--teaching, banking, accountancy, engineering.
