Performing Arts Level 1 Diploma at City College Coventry

Course description

If you are 16-18 years old and looking for an introductory course which will help develop your performance skills in drama and dance then what we have to offer is perfect. Our course will improve your functional skills in Maths and English.

Course content

It is an ideal course if you are unsure if Performing Arts is for you, or if you want to develop your confidence

Through live performances and various projects you will not only develop both your technical and performance skills.

The course will give you the opportunity to gain experience and an understanding of the skills needed to become a performer. The course will also help you decide whether you wish to study further in the industry and prepare you for further training.

Thing you will learn:

  • Acting Skills and Techniques
  • Presenting Performing Arts work
  • Preparing Performing Arts work
  • Promoting Performing Arts work

You will also take part in a number of performances that are shown to staff, students, the local community and toured around Coventry and Warwickshire.

This course is a Study Programme which consists of:

  • Vocational Qualification
  • Work Experience
  • Tutorial
  • Maths*
  • English*

*If you have not already achieved a GCSE pass at grade C or above in English and Maths you will study Maths and/ or English as an integral part of your college programme.

Entry requirements

You must have an interest in Art & Design plus 2 GCSEs at Grade E or above, or a relevant entry level qualification.

English and maths at Entry 3 or above.
