Preparation for Apprenticeship Programme - Work Skills at Minsthorpe Community College, A Specialist Science College
In year 1 Students carry out a series of modules relating to the world of work and how to be successful in an apprenticeship or other courses.
The modules that students cover include Work Experience, Preparing for Job Interviews, Team Work and Money Management.
Students also choose a subject such as Business, Customer Services, Digital Media, Health & Social Care or Sport to help in their line of work
In year 2 students will pick up their optional subject, Business, Customer Services, Digital Media, Health & Social Care or Sport, and work towards a Level 2 qualification of their choice.
3 GCSEs grades 2-3 (support with Resit Maths and English if below a 4)
5 modules all assessed by coursework
The concept of the course is to get students ready to be a successful applicant in an apprenticeship area of their choice
There are no examinations only coursework and students would usually resit Maths and/or English GCSE alongside
