Bricklaying City & Guilds Advanced Diploma Level 3 at Fareham College

Course description

This is a course for students looking to improve their skills in bricklaying with the aim of finding employment in this area of the construction industry.

You will develop your skills by undertaking a range of practical activities, and gain an understanding of supporting theoretical knowledge.

All students will be expected to complete qualifications in English and Maths and be given the opportunity to gain specific employability skills.


Course content

  • Principles of organising, planning and pricing construction work

  • Repairing and maintaining masonry structures

  • Constructing radial and battered brickwork

  • Carrying out decorative and reinforced brickwork

  • Constructing fireplaces and chimneys


Entry requirements

Completion of Level 2 Bricklaying Diploma or documented site experience could be taken into consideration.

Future opportunities

You can progress on to a Level 4 construction course, an Apprenticeship or employment as a bricklayer and/or further training for managerial roles within the construction Industry.
