Welsh AS/A Level at Ysgol Emrys Ap Iwan

Course description

This course involves a detailed study of the Welsh Language, its structure and use. Students examine different types of writing in Welsh whilst developing their use of the language. The course is designed to encourage students to communicate confidently in a variety of contexts and to develop an understanding of the cultural background and heritage of Welsh.

CA3 : Defnyddio'r Iaith a Barddoniaeth (The use of Language and Poetry)

A2 Units
CA4 : Y Ddrama a Llafaredd (Drama and Oracy)
CA5 : Y Stori Fer a Thrawsieithu (The Short Story and Translanguaging)
CA6 : Defnyddio'r Iaith a Gwerthfawrogi Barddoniaeth (The use of Language and Poetry Appreciation)

Entry requirements

Preferably grade A*-C in GCSE full or short course Welsh.

Assessment

CA1 20% - Oral examination (Group)
CA2 15% - Coursework
CA3 15% - Written Examination
CA4 15% - Oral examination (Group)
CA5 20% - Written Examination
CA6 15% - Written Examination
