Graphics A Level at East Riding College

Course description

The programme will be based around projects that give the opportunity to demonstrate development of visual and technical skills using a variety of graphics methods.

This qualification would help with a career in graphics, photography and illustration.

You can study this subject for one year and earn an AS-level or for two years and earn an A2-level

Entry requirements

  • Five  GCSEs grade A* to C including a minimum grade C in GCSE English and an art and design subject, or equivalent qualifications

  • Successful interview demonstrating motivation and commitment to the course. During the interview, your visual portfolio, evidence of competency in English and commitment to the subject will be assessed


Assessment of coursework will be ongoing during the programme delivery. The timed exam will be arranged to follow a series of four two-hour sessions arranged at suitable points in the second half of the programme where final design outcomes for unit two will be produced.

Future opportunities

You can progress to appropriate courses in higher education such as the Level Four Higher National Certificates in Art and Design,Graphic Design or Interactive Media or the Level Five Higher National Diploma in Art and Design. The course tutor will be able to offer advice for any progression issues and the UCAS application procedure.
