Course description

The Level 3 90 Credit Diploma in Creative Digital Media Production is a practical, work-related course. You learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands. As well as learning about the employment area you have chosen, you develop the skills you need to start a career.

What will I learn ?

A general media course which concentrates on television and video production. Students work in production roles and learn location shooting, editing and pre-production management. One third of the course deals with media theory, understanding programme content and style, genre, semiology, mass communication, representations, audiences and institutions. Close attention is paid to current affairs, documentary, music video production.

The course includes support to improve literacy and numeracy skills.

Entry requirements

5 GCSEs A to C, one of which must be English or Merit at Level 2 Media.
