Course description

The Edexcel Level 3 BTEC Award or Certificate in Fashion and Clothing are designed to provide: - Opportunities for students to develop ability in fashion through effective use of knowledge and skills ranging from printed textiles, garment/accessory production, pattern cutting and fashion illustration. These skills will be used to make practical and fashionable textiles products based on your own ideas. - a relevant Level 3 vocational qualification that recognises achievement and specialist areas of study - specialised studies directly relevant to the fashion profession in which students are working or intend to seek employment - practical understanding of the skills required to develop careers within the fashion and related industries - a range of skills and techniques, personal qualities and attitudes essential for successful performance in working life - a pathway into higher education - principally BTEC Higher Nationals and degree courses in fashion. Being a designer is a rewarding and interesting career that is well paid. Good designs are always in demand and the skills are also transferable to a number of other careers, eg fashion marketing, teaching.
