QCF Children and Young People's Workforce at Appleby Heritage Centre

Course description

A hands-on course aimed at anybody who has a professional interest in working with children aged 0 - 16 years. A vocational qualification based upon the knowledge and understanding gained in tutorials at the centre, and then applied during practical sessions whilst on placement in local settings.

 

Course content

 

Level 2 Certificate

The Level 2 qualification meets the needs of candidates who work or want to work as a nursery nurse, youth or community worker etc.

 

Level 3 Diploma
There are three pathways (Early Years / children's Social Care / Learning & Development and Support Services) Level 3 is more appropriate for those with an interest in a career as a care worker, child minder, early years practitioner, nursery nurse, education welfare officer, Connexions worker, learning mentor, youth/community worker or foster carer.

 

 

 

Entry requirements

A good basic general education.

Assessment

You will be required to build up a portfolio of evidence from tutorials and weekly work placement. This is a vocational qualification based upon practical experiences that are developed in a workplace.

 

Future opportunities

For suitable students there is the opportunity to progress from Level 2 to Level 3.Get the skills and experience to develop a career in child care in a wide range of settings.
