Sport:Level 2 at Suffolk New College
Students will have the opportunity to experience both practical and theory lessons utilizing the College’s fantastic facilities and taught by experienced and enthusiastic industry professionals. In recent years, students have had the opportunity to plan, deliver and coach sports events such as badminton, volleyball, football, basketball, fitness training at a local Gym. There are also visits to the Local Gymnastics Centre to learn practical skills in a new environment.
Students will need to study Maths and English, if you have not achieved a grade C or grade 4 or above.
All students who have not achieved a grade C or above in GCSE English or Maths or both will need to study an English or/and Maths qualification alongside their chosen main qualification.
Whilst studying on any of the sports courses at the college learners are given the opportunity to represent the successful college Sports teams such as Basketball, Football, Rugby, Badminton, Athletics, Golf, Trampolining and many more. Students representing the college will often travel to venues around the country to participate in high level sporting events.
4 GCSEs at grade D or grade 3, including English Language or successful completion of BTEC Level 1 Sport/UPS and Level 1 Functional skills in English (or their equivalent).

Students benefit from trips that support educational attainment in year and these cost £30, which is payable at enrolment.
83% of students progressed to further study, and 17% securing apprenticeships or employment. It is expected this will provide students with entry into the sports industry with the additional options of progressing onto our Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport to further your education and training.
