Health and Social Care: Level 2 BTEC Diploma at NESCOT
This course will prepare you for a career in health and social care, or progression to a Level 3 qualification. You will learn about communication and individual rights, individual needs in health and social care and human growth and development. You will
also have the opportunity to go on work
experience in a health care or early years setting as part of this course.
You will study subject areas, including:
- Communication in Health & Social Care
- Health Needs in Health and Social Care
- Equality & Diversity in Health & Social Care
- Creative activities
- Human Lifespan Development
- Health and Social Care Services.
This course will form the main vocational element of your individual study programme; you will also continue to develop your skills in Maths and English and take part in activities designed to maximise your employability.
You will also do vocational work experience in a health care or early years setting as part of the course.
Assignments may include:
- Written tasks
- Role play
Assessment is by coursework for each unit and work experience.
4 GCSEs at grade D or above including English and maths, or Level 1 Diploma at Merit plus English and maths. We will also require a satisfactory reference from your school. Please note, all applicants will be asked to apply for an Enhanced DBS check before starting the course.
