Driving Goods Vehicles Intermediate Apprenticeship at NITAL

Course description

This apprenticeship is for individuals looking to take the first steps towards being a driver within the logistics sector.


Course content

Course will consist of combined NVQ and Technical Certificate in Driving Goods Vehicles along with Functional Skills in Maths, English and ICT. You will also work towards Employment Rights and Responsibilities (ERR) and Personal Learning and Thinking Skills (PLTS).

Entry requirements

GCSE Grade D and above (or equivalent) Maths and English.

You will need to hold full, valid UK drivers license to undertake this programme.


You will compile a portfolio of evidence, sit online tests, complete discussions and undertake a class 2 drivers license 

Financial information

Those individuals aged 16 to 18 will be eligible for full programme funding, those aged 19+ will be part-funded.

Future opportunities

Candidates achieving all aims and objectives will have the opportunity to drive suitable category of vehicle. Progression to Advanced Apprenticeship may be an option along with taking a Class 1 drivers license leading to articulated vehicle driving.
