History at St Aldhelm's Academy

Course description

Young people who have an interest in History and the world around them.

Young people who wish to continue on an academic pathway.

The course comprises the following three modules:
History Around Us is a study of castle development, which is assessed through a controlled assignment after a site visit to Corfe Castle.

Medicine Through Time is a development study looking at the theory and practice of medicine from prehistoric times to the present. It is a chronological study that builds on understanding of themes and concepts such as continuity and change, turning points, causes and explanations. This is assessed in two exams.

Germany 1919-1945 is an in-depth study of a period in history from the Weimar Republic through to Nazi Germany. This looks at what happened in Germany between the World Wars. This module is assessed by exam.
