Drama GCSE at Shenley Brook End School
Edexcel Drama is an option at year 10. Those students who opt to follow the course through to year 11 will cover skills attained at KS3 in more depth, and will then progress to more skills and demanding areas of presentation - including solo work and performance in different types of spaces. The course is geared around Edexcel's examination syllabus, so students are constantly working to improve their acting, devising and evaluation skills. There is also a written component to the course where students are expected to reflect on their practical work through a documented response.
You could take this course to prepare for advanced level courses such as an A/AS Level in Drama or you may need to strengthen your grades by completing a foundation or intermediate vocational qualification. With further training, you could go into a job related to drama such as working in the Film, Television or Theatre industries. You may also like to look at joining a theatre group to increase your drama and theatre experience. You could also go straight into employment and do further training or part time study with the support of your employer.
