Travel and Tourism - Level 2 Diploma at Chichester College

Course description

The C&G Level 2 Diploma provides those who have a passion for travel and tourism with an excellent insight and knowledge of the different opportunities available within the sector. It gives students the opportunity to gain a broad knowledge and understanding of, and develop skills in, the travel and tourism sector through practical, theory and work related projects.

Course content

The course is comprised of 8 units based on the following: Worldwide Travel and Tourism Destinations, Customer Service and Selling Skills for Travel and Tourism, Interpersonal Skills for the Travel and Tourism Workplace, Travel and Tourism Support Services, Visitor Attractions, Resort Representatives, Principles of Customer Service in Hospitality, Leisure Travel and Tourism, Contribute to the Delivery of an Entertainment Activity in Travel and Tourism. 

You will learn by completing projects, assignments and online tests that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands. Study of GCSE Maths and English will be encouraged to gain C grades as well as mandatory work experience will be required. 

Entry requirements

4 GCSEs at grade D or above preferably to include Maths and English

Assessment

All units are graded with Pass, Merit or Distinction and are assessed by either written assignments or online tests. An overall grade for the qualification is awarded.

A £30 fee will be charged on enrolment for a Columbus Travel
Atlas. (fee correct at time of printing may be subject to change) A fee will
be payable should students need to re-sit any examination.

 

Future opportunities

This course can progress to the NCFE Level 2 Diploma in Travel and
Tourism OR an apprenticeship. To find out about these qualifications
