Course description

Do you ever wonder why we behave the way we do, or want to understand the way relationships work?

Psychology is a fascinating and challenging subject that provides a sound framework of knowledge and understanding for personal insight. Lessons involve discussion, activities, case studies and essay writing. Students of psychology are required to read a range of textbooks and search on the internet for recent studies on an independent basis.

Units include:

Cognitive and developmental Psychology & Research Methods; Biological Psychology, social Psychology and Individual Differences; Psychopathology, Psychology in Action and Research Methods

Psychology will provides a sound knowledge and skills base that enables any student to take full advantage of a university course – not just in psychology. It can also enable students to have a deeper insight into their learning, particularly their study skills. Psychology naturally acts as a progression onto Higher Education courses, especially social sciences, media, business studies and teaching. There are many career choices in psychology itself to include child psychology, sports psychology and criminology and many more.

Entry requirements

You will need at least 1 GCSE Grade B and 4GCSE’s at grade C, including Mathematics,English Language, English Literature andDouble Science.
