Sport Diploma Level 1 at Berkshire College of Agriculture

Course description

BCA has excellent facilities:

  • The Sports department was graded ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted in 2015
  • Excellent modern classrooms fully equipped with interactive IT support
  • Sports pitches maintained by full-time ground staff – 3 full size and 1 junior football pitch, plus 1 full size rugby pitch
  • Opened in May 2014, we have a brand new state-of-the-art sports hall, incorporating 4 badminton courts, a full size basketball court, and cricket nets. The Sports department also has a fully equipped Fitness Suite and second strength and conditioning gym

Course content

This course develops the personal skills and qualities needed for work and learning within the sports industry. This is a practical hands-on programme, involving projects and assignments based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands.

GCSE results graded F-G.

Future opportunities

Progress to the Level 2 Extended Certificate in Sport.

Further information

All full-time students, aged between 16-18, will study GCSE or Functional Skills in Maths and English, if they don’t already hold an A*- C level GCSE in the subject. This is an integral part of their vocational study programme at BCA. Students over 19 are also encouraged to refresh and accredit their skills alongside vocational study.
