- The Principles of Acting: This unit covers the theories of different theatrical greats rehearsing, developing and performing a show to a paying audience!
- Performing to an audience: This unit is all about performing, you will learn new techniques, rehearsal skills and be assessed on nothing but what you bring on the night!
- Devised performance: This unit will teach you create brand new exciting work, here you are the writer, director and performer.
- Physical Theatre: This unit will teach you cutting edge performance technique, movement skills, lifts, throws and new and inventive ways to express yourself on stage – and as with every unit, you will perform these skills to an audience.
C at GCSE English Drama GCSE, BTEC level 2 performing arts or previous performing experience are advantageous but not essential. Passion for the Arts is!
Minimum Academic Standard for Progression into Y13
Entry into Y13 is not automatic in CLF Post 16.
The majority of students will continue into Y13 dependent on the entry criteria for courses as outlined below:
For BTECs all students must attain a minimum vocational standard of passes for successful progression.
Students who do not meet the entry requirements into Y13 will be given guidance about a change of study programme and relevant courses available. They will not be allowed to re-sit the same core learning aims (i.e. subjects) as they did in Y12.
Our performers go on to study performing arts Foundation and BA (hons) degrees in acting, performing arts and film and TV studies. We also have students who find places at drama school.
