Course description

Our introductory engineering course is ideal for school leavers considering a career in engineering and will provide a basic understanding of engineering principles. To earn this qualification, you must complete a range of mandatory and optional units, including:• Carrying out basic fitting techniques • Carrying out mechanical assembly• Producing engineering drawings• Carrying out fabrication and welding activities

Course content

Entry requirements

2 GCSEs at grades E-G, including Maths or Entry Level 3 qualification or another relevant Entry Level qualification. You will have a pre-course informal interview to make sure this is the right level for you.

Assessment

You will complete practical assignments and projects and complete city and Guilds on-line assessments.

Future opportunities

From this course you’ll be able to progress to our Level 2 Pre-apprenticeship Engineering course or into employment on a Level 2 Apprenticeship.
