Nutritional Health (Level 2) at St Columba's Catholic Boys' School

Course description

The NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Nutrition and Health has been developed in response to rising levels of obesity in both adults and children. The statistics are startling: about 20% of Britons are now classified as obese. A report by the National Audit Office warns that if the current trends continue, a quarter of British adults will be obese by 2010. In addition, it is estimated that illnesses associated with poor eating habits are already costing the NHS more than £500 million per year. The qualification is ideal for learners who are interested in improving their understanding of nutrition and healthy eating. The qualification has been developed in close association with Tribal Learning and Publishing, specialist publishers of distance learning materials. Tribal Learning and Publishing is part of the Tribal Group plc who are providers of professional support services to the Education, Health and Local Government sectors and to the wider public and private sectors in the UK.
