Science (Core) GCSE at Reigate College

Course description

A science qualification is important for all kinds of career choices. The College offers GCSE Science (Core) for students who want to improve on their previous Science studies.

Course content

This is an intensive one-year course and includes the study of:

  • Human Biology
  • Evolution and the Environment
  • Products from Rocks
  • Oil, Earth and Atmosphere
  • Energy and Electricity
  • Radiation and the Universe

Entry requirements

Ideally students will have already studied GCSE Science and achieved at least a Grade E.

Students will be successful on this course if they are prepared to work hard and meet deadlines.


This course is assessed via three exams (75%) and an Investigative Skills Assignment, ISA (25%).

The exam board for this GCSE is AQA.
