Bricklaying Diploma Level 1 at CDC
The Level 1 Diploma in Bricklaying has been developed for delivery in a training environment and has been designed to:
Develop learners skills and knowledge at this level.
Prepare learners to enter the industry in their chosen craft.
Prepare learners to take further qualifications to develop their skills, knowledge and understanding within their chosen craft.
Construct block walling
Construct brick walling
Construct cavity walling
Health, safety and welfare in construction and associated industries
Knowledge of construction technology
Knowledge of technical information, quantities and communication with others
Mix construction materials
Setting out for basic masonry structures
There are no formal entry requirements (i.e. qualifications a learner must have achieved) to take this qualification.
This qualification is accredited on the QCF for learners aged 16-18 and 19+.
Approved Centres must ensure learners are fully aware of the minimum age requirements of this qualification.
- Ongoing practical testings (throughout the year)
- Online end of unit tests (externally set)
16-18 year old are fully funded Not all students after 18 may need to pay fees, depending on your circumstances.

This Level 1 Diploma in Bricklaying will enable and/or prepare the learner to progress in their chosen trade and on completion of this qualification, learners may progress:
Into employment or to undertake further training in one of the following qualifications: Level 2 Diploma in Bricklaying.
To undertake a Level 1 NVQ Diploma in Trowel Occupations.
To an Apprenticeship
