Apprenticeship in Customer Services at Kingston College

Course description

This Apprenticeship framework is designed to meet the needs of employers and to provide a vocational pathway into the customer service professions and apprentices will train as customer service assistants. Apprentices learn on the job practical skills, working in the business four days and attending College one day each week. The duration of the course is 18 months. This Customer Service Apprenticeship framework is designed to provide apprentices with the knowledge, skills and understanding they require to perform their job role and to support their future progression within the sector.

Course content

Customer Service Apprenticeships provide learners with the skills needed to progress in a wide range of roles, enabling them to support customers before, during and after purchase. Areas covered include understanding and engaging with customers and managing own personal development.

Functional Skills if you have not previously achieved a GCSE grade C/4 in English or Mathematics.

Entry requirements

Level 1 Functional Skills in English and Mathematics together with a genuine interest in the customer service sector. Applicants should have an excellent reference and possess a positive attitude. You will need to be successful in the interview process with Kingston College and employed as an apprentice in an appropriate job role.


Assessment is continuous both in College and the work place.

    • The site at Kingston Hall Road is the College's main site and houses the Student Registry and Welfare departments as well as Deli KC and the ACT Theatre.  The Arena Sports facility and Arena Hair and Beauty are both attached to this building, which also houses the central administration facility for the College.
