Aviation Operations Level 3 Diploma at Middlesbrough College

Course description

This Diploma course is designed to provide an all-round introduction to the Aviation Industry for those who would like a career in one of its many occupational areas.

Course content

Over a two year period you will study units investigating the variety of opportunities within the Aviation Industry. Some of the units of study are: • The UK Aviation Industry (mandatory) • Customer Service in Aviation • Security in Aviation (mandatory) • Aviation Geo & Terminology • Team Leadership • On-board Operations • Conflict • Health & Safety in Aviation (mandatory) • Interrelations in aviation(mandatory)

Entry requirements

To gain entry to this course you must possess a Level 2 qualification with a Merit or Distinction grade in a relevant discipline, and four or more GCSEs at Grade C or above, to include English and Maths (or an equivalent qualifications acceptable to the College). You must also undertake a successful interview and provide a satisfactory reference. "If you do not have a Grade A to C in English and/or Maths, you will be required to continue studying these subjects as part of your Study Programme."

Assessment

Internal assessments will be carried out in a variety of ways including assignments, role plays and presentations.

Future opportunities

On successful completion of this course, you will be able to progress into relevant employment these include roles in airports such as: - Passenger Liaison - Ramp Work - Cargo Operations and Ground Handling - Along with traditional Airline jobs including Cabin Crew and Customer Service OR Apply for a Higher Education course. Such as the FDA in Travel and Aviation, Travel and Tourism Management which you can then progress onto an honorary degree or into management. The College Careers Service is available to all our students. We can help you when deciding which course or option you wish to take. During your course we ensure you develop employability skills and gain relevant experience. We provide information, advice and support when completing your course and progressing to work or going into higher education. When applying for University we can provide support with the UCAS application and Student Finance.
