Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools Apprenticeship at level 3 at North of England Training Limited

Course description

Appropriately trained and deployed staff, supporting teaching and learning in schools, play a crucial role in supporting pupils, parents and colleagues. Examples of job roles for these Apprenticeships include teaching, classroom and learning support assistant; special needs assistant; behaviour support assistant/coordinator; pastoral/welfare assistant; foundation stage assistant; team leader.

Apprentices must be keen to work in the sector to support teaching and learning in schools and must be suitable to do so as it is a requirement to undergo an enhanced Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check.

Course content

The Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship is applicable to learning support staff whose role requires competence across a range of responsibilities. They will be working more independently than learners at Level 2.

Qualifications to be achieved for this framework:

  • Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools
  • Functional Skills: Maths Level 2; English Level 2; ICT Level 2
  • Employee Rights and Responsibilities
  • Personal Learning and Thinking Skills (PLTS) national outcomes
