History at The Fallibroome Academy

Course description

The A Level History course covers aspects of German, Russian and British history across the period 1871-1964. At AS Level, there are two units which cover the development of Germany 1871-1925 and Russia under Stalin's leadership 1924-41. Both of these units are examined in the June of Year 12. At A2 Level, the examined unit covers Britain 1918-64 and places significant emphasis on essay-writing skills. The other unit of the A2 course is a personal assignment on the Origins of the First World War. This is expected to be about 4,000 words long and students are required to conduct a lot of independent research as part of this task.
