Photography Level 2 Diploma at Lincoln College

Course description

If you want to pursue a career in photography then this is an excellent place to start. This course will provide you with the underpinning skills and knowledge to progress through the levels of photography. During this course you will take a broad approach to photography and carry out projects that will allow you to experiment with different techniques. This course will consist of practical work and written assignments that will be developed through classroom and workshop activities, demonstrations, group and individual work.
Upon successful completion you will be able to progress onto our Level 3 Diploma/Extended Diploma in Photography.
During this course, you will undertake projects covering: camera techniques; location photography; experimental photography – such as light painting, 3D and pinhole cameras and darkroom practice – including shooting, processing and printing your own black and white film.


Entry requirements

You will need 4 GCSE’s including an Art of Design related subject (minimum Grade D) not including Expressive Arts, or a BTEC Foundation Certificate qualification in an Art related subject. 
You will be required to attend an interview, where you will be required to show your art and design ability in a portfolio of artwork. You are also required to provide a reference (from an employer or recent school/college report).


Assessment is a combination of individual meetings and formal assessments, where work is submitted for grading.
