Bricklaying Level 2 Diploma at Bridgwater College

Course description

This course will apply to students who wish to follow a career in trowel occupations. The Bridgwater College Construction Centre is a dedicated facility for construction craft in wood occupations and bricklaying with workshops that are well-equipped with a huge range of carpentry and bricklaying tools. Well-appointed classrooms and computer facilities enhance the workshops and provide a link between practical and knowledge aspects of the course.

Course content

The course is split into units, some core units and some bricklaying trade units; you will achieve a Level 2 in Bricklaying.

Entry requirements

You will need to have achieved the Level 1 in Bricklaying . You will also need to complete a successful interview and induction.


Brickwork and practical coursework will be marked through set practical tasks. Underpinning knowledge is assessed via internally-set test papers; however there will be a need to complete a multiple choice test that is externally set by the awarding body.

Future opportunities

You could progress on to an Apprenticeship in brickwork if suitable employment is gained.
