Physics at Harris Westminster Sixth Form

Course description

Year 12 ContentThis is a one year course comprising of three units and may be awarded as a discrete qualification or count as 50% to the full A Level: Physics in Action, Understanding Processes, Physics in Practice. Upon completing the AS year, you may begin the more challenging A2 course. This consists of a further three units. The AS Physics knowledge is assumed in all the following units: The Rise and Fall of the Clockwork Universe, Field and Particle Pictures and Advances in Physics, Researching Physics

Entry requirements

Subject specific entry requirements may apply but as a minimum you should provide 7 GCSEs grades A* - C. Please see our website for full admissions criteria. Students require a grade B or above in Physics GCSE or, if taking Double Science GCSE, then a BB is required with a minimum of a grade B in the Physics modules. Additionally, a grade B in Maths GCSE is also required. Students also need to study AS Mathematics, and should note that the mathematical content of Physics AS and A2 is demanding.
