The wide range of media to be explored and potentially created means that students will be developing their understanding of most notably moral, ethical, social, economic and cultural issues.
Media Studies are designed to encourage candidates to: enhance their enjoyment and appreciation of the media and its role in their daily lives; develop critical understanding of the media through engagement with media products and concepts and through the creative application of production skills; explore production processes, technologies and other relevant contexts; become independent in research skills and their application in their production work and in developing their own views and interpretations.

AS Coursework: A production of candidate's own choosing, which is supported by a report of 1200-1600 words (50% of final grade)
Media Studies is one of the fastest growing A Levels in Britain at the moment. Universities have responded with course journalism, television studies, film studies and more technically driven options. Media can also provide you with observational, analytical and creative skills which can support a career in any number of fields.
